Big Birthday!!

Annabelle and Bridgette were born today in Vermont at about 8am.  Each weighed around 4 pounds 10 ounces.  They are small but healthy.  Katie was more than ready for them to come.  Now lets hope they can all get some sleep before heading home to a new life.

The Connollys visit Tucson

Kit and Jess decided to celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary here in Tucson with us.   They explored our new home and then took off to the Ritz for a couple of nights of R & R which they needed!!  Here are some shots from their trip.

The Ritz has an amazing water slide which we all tried.

Even Sue got into it.

What just happened??

The happy couple, 7 years later.

Kelan and Daddy getting into it.

Handsome guys.

The beautiful Ritz at Dove Mountain

Beckett loves the water, but the slide was a bit much.  He loved driving the golf cart, playing on the scooter, and hanging out at the playground.

Jess and GMA at the play ground.

It is always difficult to get a group shot.  Here are some attempts!!

Babies Galore!

We are in the process of doubling our number of grandchildren with Mia who was born in May and adding Annabelle and Bridgette who are due in November.  We were getting used to doing boy things ( building with blocks, watching airplanes in the sky, finding any kind of front end loader).  Now we will need to come up with a whole new set of tricks!!
Mia is starting to like us though, so that is giving us new confidence.  We will need it when the twins come!!
Here are some shots of our August trip to Boston and Vermont.

Mia is still checking me out.

How cute is she!!

I am getting close consideration.

I think I've won her heart.

Outfits for the twins.

Beautiful hand made quilts from our neighbor, Linda Grider.

Nice to have more girls in the family!!

Summer Road Trip

All the kids were busy with a new baby, babies-to-be, and a new job, so we decided to head off on our own to celebrate our 65th birthdays and 25th wedding anniversary.  We started by heading north to Flagstaff and Durango, then stopping by Breck for a wedding and by Boulder for a birthday party.  Finally, we left for Lake Tahoe, both the north and south side, for boating, hiking, swimming and of course golf.  The cooler temperatures were a welcome change from Tucson!!  Here are some highlights.

Bob with Breck friends, Steve, Tom, and Gary.  George is missing from this picture.

Sue with Genia, Nancy, Jo Ann, and Linda.

Congratulations Alex and Megan.  What a beautiful wedding.

Kelan turned 4 on July 20 and Jess had a great party for him!!

Beckett loved the balloons and being with the big kids.

Party favors.

Don't know what was better--face painting, balloons, the surprise pirate or cupcakes.

The proud parents.  They should be.  The boys are adorable.

The view from our window at the Hyatt on the north side of Lake Tahoe.

The lake is 1600 feet deep and perfectly clear.

Golfing at Northstar.

The view of Emerald Bay on the way to south Lake Tahoe.

Bob reaching another pinnacle, just days before his 65th!!

Trip to the US Open

After returning from Boston, we expected to settle in to Tucson for a while.  Then Lynne and Lee Cochran offered us some tickets to the Open they had won but could not use.  That was all we needed to set out on a drive up the west coast to San Francisco.
First we needed a fancy car.   Not really.  We went in our SUV, but we found this one in Santa Barbara and thought it was very California.  Then we started to see the sights:

Santa Barbara harbor

Elephant seals

Gorgeous ground covers all blooming near the seaside.

The Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach

The course at Half Moon Bay

More of Half Moon Bay

Sue is having trouble with the colder weather.

We ran in to Tiger just like we did at the Accenture Tournament!!

His swing was back for the first two days.

Some local color.

The Club House at the Olympic Club

We walked every hole at the course.

Views of the course and San Francisco.
