Christmas 2014

What a fun time we had this year at the Connollys in Boulder Colorado.  Here are the highlights.

Twas the night before Xmas and all through the house.  Lots of people were stirring though.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hope that St. Nicholas soon would be there!
And he came all right.
Fortunately, the boys are still believers, so we shared the magic with them.
The smile says it all.

Big eyes.

The Connolly Family Christmas.
Bob helps Beckett assemble his "flying train."

The next day they went ATV ing with one of Beckett's friends.

Kelan spent four hours straight building the lego police station.

And then added it to his growing lego city.

Thank you Kit and Jess for such a perfect holiday.  We loved sharing it with Grammy and Grampy Tieuli as well.  Happy New Year to all of you.

Bob and Sue conquer NYC

It was difficult to leave everyone, but they all had to get back to work and school.  So we decided to take on NYC.  We had never been there together. We were a little worried after so many years in the mountains and the desert, but it was on the bucket list, so we had to try!!

We took the train south from Boston, along the New England coast to Penn Station.  It was such a gorgeous ride.

It was a shock to get to street level with all the people and traffic and buildings, but we found our way to our hotel in midtown.

We walked around the area first finding Time Square in all its glory.

The next day, we took the subway to Brooklyn and started our site seeing with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

The views were amazing.

Then we took the Staten Island Ferry to see this lady and all the other sites in the harbor.

Other days we focussed on the Highline walk

the neighborhoods of Greenwich Village, Soho, and Tribeca

Central Park

several famous museums

and a broadway show--Beautiful.

Summer Fun in Massachusetts

After our amazing time in the mountains in June, we spent July here in Tucson experiencing the cool down that comes from the monsoon rains.  They are exciting to watch--colorful and intense.  We were ready to go again when they ended, so we headed off to Massachusetts for August.

Mia is getting so big, but it is hard to tell in this picture!!

We got to read a lot with her.

And play miniature golf with Gus

Then we headed to Plum Island where we found great wave hopping.

Bobby and Katie joined us from VT.

We learned that their family will be growing,  another due in March!!

We had a view of the bay from our rental house.

This provided endless walks through the mud.

And a great place for kayaking.

June in Colorado

June is the worst summer month in Tucson, so we decided to spend it in Avon CO this summer where we found perfect weather, wildflowers, fireworks, and the Connollys!!  Here are some highlights.

Playing golf at the top of the world at Cordillera.

Hiking at Lionshead at the top of Vail

At Mt. Massive Golf course in Leadville where Sue reminisced about her only hole in one.

It was hard work but we made it to the top!!

4th of July in Avon CO

Beckett is a little flirt.

We took them on a paddle boat ride.

Kelan tried the trampoline.

Everyone loves the gondola at Vail which Beckett calls the "flying train."
