Bob and Sue conquer NYC

It was difficult to leave everyone, but they all had to get back to work and school.  So we decided to take on NYC.  We had never been there together. We were a little worried after so many years in the mountains and the desert, but it was on the bucket list, so we had to try!!

We took the train south from Boston, along the New England coast to Penn Station.  It was such a gorgeous ride.

It was a shock to get to street level with all the people and traffic and buildings, but we found our way to our hotel in midtown.

We walked around the area first finding Time Square in all its glory.

The next day, we took the subway to Brooklyn and started our site seeing with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

The views were amazing.

Then we took the Staten Island Ferry to see this lady and all the other sites in the harbor.

Other days we focussed on the Highline walk

the neighborhoods of Greenwich Village, Soho, and Tribeca

Central Park

several famous museums

and a broadway show--Beautiful.

Summer Fun in Massachusetts

After our amazing time in the mountains in June, we spent July here in Tucson experiencing the cool down that comes from the monsoon rains.  They are exciting to watch--colorful and intense.  We were ready to go again when they ended, so we headed off to Massachusetts for August.

Mia is getting so big, but it is hard to tell in this picture!!

We got to read a lot with her.

And play miniature golf with Gus

Then we headed to Plum Island where we found great wave hopping.

Bobby and Katie joined us from VT.

We learned that their family will be growing,  another due in March!!

We had a view of the bay from our rental house.

This provided endless walks through the mud.

And a great place for kayaking.
