Holiday escapades

We were able to see our whole family again, but not at the same time.  We set out on December 15 for a visit to Vermont where we experienced quintessential New England beauty but also a 70 degree drop in temperatures from Tucson.  Still, it was so good to see the girls again and to catch up with all their new activities.

We had an early Xmas by the fire.

The girls sit still sometimes.

Mostly, they are lovers of all things winter like their parents.
We love the ski boots with Binky.

Then we moved on to Newton MA for Xmas with the Inadas.  The temperatures warmed a little, but not up to Tucson standards.
Susie made an amazing dinner for all of us on Xmas Eve.

Then we put out snacks for Santa.
Santa does it again!!

How we enjoyed spending Xmas with this happy family.

Jessica and Kit had all the Tieulis for Xmas this year, so we joined them soon after for Kit's 40th birthday celebration.  Then the parents set off for a vacation in warm Arizona.

The boys had grown so much since the summer.

We got to see all that Santa had brought them, including a Monopoly game.

We had great fun walking with them to the bus stop with Millie Grace

The birthday boy and his better half.

Family Reunion 2016

We managed to gather all 15 of us in a house in Maine for a week in August.
It had been 8 years since we had all been together at the same time and place.  We had no idea what to expect!!
It was busy
It was musical

It was messy.

It was time to bond.

To be creative together
To be silly together

To hang out together
To share some laughs

It was full of love.

The perfect birthday present for us.   Thanks again to our amazing family.

June Getaway

While the temperatures soared in Marana, we were comfortable at our little retreat in Arrowhead, Colorado.  We have rented there for three Junes now and enjoy it more each year.  With hiking, golfing, exploring and connecting with family and friends, we think we have found the perfect vacation.

We took our time getting there, exploring Canyon de Chelly along the way.

The ancient Navajo ruins were amazing.
Arches National Park in Moab Utah.

We stopped again in Moab, Utah, finally arriving at Redlands Mesa, a course we love in Grand Junction.

Vail had a Go Pro event happening our first weekend.
Athletic prowess was abundant!!

She did the splits on a slackline over white water rapids!!

Stand up paddle boarding on the Gore River.

Our most lovely day included hiking and dining in Beaver Creek and then the Opening Night Concert of Bravo featuring Joshua Bell.

Then the Connolly boys joined us for our first Grandparent Adventure Camp which featured paddle boating, gondola riding, hiking, golfing, swimming and finally.....

.....horseback riding at 4 Eagle Ranch!!

We were so sad for the trip to end, but had a double rainbow on the way home to console us.
